About

Sheltering Oak Farms values the relationship with the horse above all else. Through years of different disciplines, approaches, and horses that all taught something different, we were inspired to create a program that addressed the whole health of the horse to achieve best training results. The better your horse feels, the more generous and capable they are. We also believe that unless the owner is able to carry out the communication, the training will not last. Our coaching encourages the rider to hone their own skills in horsemanship to create confident, independent equestrians.

Alexandra Farly is the trainer and coach at SOF. Alex began riding at a young age and grew up in the sport. She competed in many disciplines through her youth riding career winning a multitude of national titles, including 3 national champion titles. When she decided to turn her passion into a career, she managed and coached a youth riding program at a Bay Area facility for 3 years before moving north to her own facility. She specializes in coaching clear communication between horse and rider to encourage trust and confidence.

Since entering the industry as a professional, Alex has been focusing on diversifying and finessing her skills in groundwork, Dressage, Cowboy Dressage, and communication between horse and rider. She regularly lessons and participates in clinics to stay fresh and continue her education in the sport.

Pam Farly, manager of SOF, grew up riding and shared a passion for horses that lead her to a corporate marketing job in the equine industry. With years of experience in all disciplines and aspects of the equine industry, Pam shares the goals of creating an inclusive environment focusing on the wellbeing of the horse. Pam specializes in researching wellness and working closely with vets to address each horse's unique needs.

Together, Pam and Alex offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise in horse care, competition, and horsemanship. SOF caters to riders in competition, riders who wish to create a stronger bond, and riders who are passionate about learning and growing within the sport.
